Colonial Food for Thought: A Living History Event

What did people eat in colonial Newport? Join costumed interpreters as they discuss various foods that were commonly found in the 18th century. Learn how ladies would take tea and treats, how soldiers' foods were rationed, and why children would not eat chocolate. This program takes place at the Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House, 17 Broadway, Newport, RI. Admission costs $5 per person, $4 for NHS members and military, and $3 for children ages 5-12. Guests can purchase a historically inspired melamine plate as an add-on to their admission ticket which costs $13 per person, and $12 for NHS members and military. All participants must wear a cloth or medical face covering.
